Park ROCKS: Vancouver 2010, here we come!

Here it is: the announcement so many of you have been waiting for:

The Park School is once again one of only a very small number (latest estimate is THREE) schools in the entire country at which NBC Sports will be recruiting for interns for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Here's what we know (watch this space for more information as it becomes available):

-- The Olympics will take place in February 2010. Interns will be required to travel to Vancouver in January and will return to campus early in March.

-- Just as we did two years ago, the Park School will work with all of the students who are accepted into the program to ensure that they will stay on track for graduation. Last time, we created special courses specifically for the interns, beginning upon their return to campus in March; that's an option again this time.

-- NBC Sports will be on campus for interviews late in March; the exact dates haven't been determined, but we'll keep you posted.

-- Applications are available NOW in the Dean's Office. They MUST be submitted to the Dean's Office by 5 p.m. March 9. NO EXCEPTIONS.

-- Students currently off campus can apply; you can contact April Johanns, who will email you the application, and we will conduct interviews via Skype or iChat.

-- While the Park School will work closely with NBC Sports to coordinate and organize the interviews, and will work closely with our students who go to Vancouver, NBC Sports makes all decisions regarding selection of interns. I think you ALL should get to go; unfortunately, it's not up to me.

Again, we'll share information as it comes in: watch this space!
