Ed2010 (And NO, it's NOT “Eee-dee two zero one zero.”)
This just in from Danielle Paccione, a Parkie who is one of five journalism majors whohave just started a new campus chapter of Ed2010, an organization for magazine editor wannabes:
Calling all magazine editor wannabes! Ed2010 has come to Ithaca!
"Ed2010 is a community of young magazine editors and magazine-editor wannabes who want to learn more about the industry so we can fulfill our dreams of landing top editing and writing positions in the magazine industry. Ed was born in New York City, but we now have chapters in cities across the U.S., Canada, and in the UK." -Ed2010.com
The IC chapter of Ed2010 was just launched by five journalism majors who spotted the need for a professional networking organization for aspiring magazine writers and editors.
We're excited to start connecting with local editors and rubbing elbows with NYC editors. We'll be designing programs to bring magazine head honchos to campus so we can learn about the editorial process, the freelancing life, the "biz" side, how to think like an editor, and the best insider tips on internship/job searching to reach your dream magazine job.
Wanna be in the loop?
Shoot the president, Allison Musante, an e-mail (email@example.com) and she'll put you on our e-mail list as Ed2010 gets up and running.
One last thing...
"It’s Ed (as in the dude’s name) 2010 (as in twenty-ten). So please stop saying
“Eee-dee two zero one zero.” It’s Ed’s biggest pet peeve. Alrighty then." -
